Neighboringmaster has been with AZ since 2013 and extended his contract earlier until mid -2028. He now has 57 games in the first team behind his name and scored five times. After his first period at PEC, the player from Egmond aan den Hoef returned to Alkmaar in 2024, where he played 45 games.
Superfluous
Partly due to the arrival of the Czech midfielder Matej Sin to AZ, the chance of playing minutes this season was considerably reduced.
“We are very happy that Zico unexpectedly became available and chose us, since he had several options,” says PEC technical director Gerry Hamstra. “Certainly also in view of the fact that he played more than forty games in the first of AZ last season. Zico is top fit and connects immediately.”
Buurmeester will return to Alkmaar later this month. PEC Zwolle will play against AZ on Wednesday 24 September.
