AZ O-18 champion after convincing victory over peers PSV

AZ O-18 can call itself national champion. In the final for the title, PSV O-18 was defeated 2-0 this afternoon. Fedde de Jong and Mexx Meerdink scored the goals in Wijdewormer.

Trainer Jan Sierksma had several players who normally play at Jong AZ in the first division. For example, Maxim Dekker, Lewis Schouten, Myron van Brederode, De Jong and Meerdink were in the starting lineup.

After fifteen minutes it was De Jong who opened the score. He managed to trick a PSV defender on the back line, after which he hit hard.

The predominance of AZ was expressed on the scoreboard just before half time. Spits Meerdink was knocked down in the penalty area, after which he converted the penalty himself by convincingly shooting the ball through the middle.

The victory was no longer in danger for AZ O-18 after the break. As a result, the winner of the spring competition managed to deal with the champion of the autumn competition. Due to the win, AZ has been placed again for the Youth League.

A report of the match can be seen on television on Monday at NH Sport.
