With a goal and a red card, Goes had an important leading role in the 0-3 competition in Deventer. In the injury time of the second half, Goes committed a foul on Enric Llansana. Referee Bas Nijshuis then sent Goes directly red to the side.
AZ has now decided not to accept the settlement proposal and therefore appeals. If the suspension remains, Goes will miss the home game of next Sunday against FC Groningen and the away match on Wednesday 14 May against FC Twente.
