Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has paid tribute to the late Nazareth singer Dan McCafferty. “I haven’t commented on this yet…a very bitter pill,” Rose wrote on Twitter. “I am very, very saddened to hear of the death of Dan McCafferty of Nazareth.”

Rose went on to say he found out about it right before a performance. “I felt pretty surreal on stage for several songs.” After that, he listened to the band’s music for a few days. “Thank you to Dan and all of Nazareth for all of this music over the years,” Rose wrote. “Your music and Dan’s voice will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace Dan.”

In the same post, Rose also thanked Guns N’ Roses fans in Australia and Asia. “A big thank you to all the fans for making the 2022 Asian tour a huge success,” he wrote. “The fan reaction at each venue was unique and special!” Rose also thanked the Australian fans who “came out and braved the cold November rain in Perth”. “You were great”.

McCafferty died in November at the age of 76. He was the singer of the Scottish hard rock band until 2013, when he left for health reasons. Nazareth released their debut album “Nazareth” in 1971, the band made their breakthrough with their third and fourth albums “Razamanaz” (1973) and “Hair of the Dog” (1975).
