The Flemish government opts for a route that coincides with the existing 380 kV line towards Avelgem. But according to the municipality, the process spans additional homes, something they have previously opposed.
Avelgem regrets that her position is being ignored, despite participation moments and consultations. Minister Jo Brouns has already visited the region. A public inquiry of 60 days will follow soon. Residents can then give their opinion. Avelgem will submit a formal advice and calls for a reconsideration of the route.
