In the match played at the Ahmad Ben Ali Stadium in Qatar, Australia’s Jackson Irvine scored the goal that put his team ahead in the 53rd minute. 4 minutes after this goal, Brazilian-born United Arab Emirates (UAE) football player Caio Canedo equalized the score in the 57th minute. With Ajdin Hrustic’s goal in the 84th minute, Australia won the match 2-1.


With this result, Australia qualified to face Peru to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.


Australia will face Peru again on 13 June at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. The winner of the match will compete in the FIFA World Cup.
