It is high time for a new Audi RS 6, because the previous model from 2019 has now been retired. The new Audi A6 is already on the market. The performance version with RS 6 badge is on the way, because more and more spyshots pop up.
New Audi RS 6 also available as a sedan
Interestingly, the spy photos of this camouflaged top model also show sedans. Where BMW with the current M3 and M5 infiltrates the station wagon segmentAudi wants to win the hearts of sports sedan enthusiasts with its upcoming RS 6.
These 5 second-hand cars are very special and (still) affordable
Both brands have already had experience with the different body shapes. For example, BMW already supplied an M5 Touring of the E34 generation in the early 1990s. In the zeroes also followed the crazy E61 M5 with legendary V10 engine.

Although Audi’s RS branch originated with the masterful RS2 Avant (which is secretly Porsche’s first station wagon), sports sedans with four rings on the nose were later introduced. For example, there was a sedan of the B7 RS 4 as well as the C5 RS 6.
Just like BMW M5, a lot cheaper
A concealing foil has been stuck to the Audi RS 6 prototypes that the brand is now testing on public roads. Nevertheless, we see the flared wheel arches, oval exhaust pipes and more aggressive bumper work. Exactly as befits a real RS model.
The powertrain will be completely different than before. Delivering a huge performance sedan or station with just a bulky V8 is almost impossible due to strict emission requirements. Hybrid technology is required to reduce emissions. Presumably the V8 will remain, but it will become a plug-in hybrid. Actually just like the current BMW M5 and Porsche Panamera Turbo (S) E-Hybrid (that collide in this video).
Ferrari becomes furious when it sees this ‘off-roader’
The advantage of a plug-in hybrid is that emissions are much lower on paper, so the BPM penalty in the Netherlands is not so severe. Thanks to this hybrid technology, you can buy the current BMW M5 from 146,000 euros, while the Audi RS 6 cost well over two thousand euros just before it left the playing field. The new RS 6 will therefore probably be much cheaper in the Netherlands.
