Atlético Madrid became the fourth and last team to reach the semi-finals of the Spanish Football Cup.
The ten-time cup winner defeated their first division rivals Betis Sevilla 5-0 (3-0) in the quarter-finals and can therefore continue to hope for their first cup win since 2013.
Before the team of French former world champion Antoine Griezmann, last year’s winners FC Barcelona (2:1 at Albacete Balompié), Real Sociedad (3:2 at Deportivo Alaves) and Athletic Bilbao (2:1 at FC Valencia) also made it to the semi-finals with away wins.
The pairings and dates for the semi-finals have not yet been determined.
