Kristin Pudenz clearly won the women’s discus throw at the German championships.

With 67.10 meters, the Olympic silver medalist not only won the title at the German championships on Saturday, but also demonstrated her strong form. It was also a personal best for Pudenz.

“Today it was just right. I already had good throws in training”she said in the sports show and set herself high goals for the European and World Championships: “I would like to have a medal in both.” With her world-class performance, the 29-year-old is a hot contender for the podium at the World Championships in Athletics in Eugene in August.

Weber wins the javelin throw

Javelin thrower Julian Weber also announced medal ambitions at international competitions. He won the DM with 86.61 meters, but remained below the targeted 90 meters and well below his best performance of the season.

Nevertheless, he was the sovereign national title holder – the second Maurice Vogt was almost nine meters behind. Vice European Champion Andreas Hofmann came third. Rio Olympic champion Thomas Röhler disappointed in fifth.

Borutta wins the hammer throw

Samantha Borutta from Leverkusen won the women’s hammer throw at the German championships. She won with 67.09 meters ahead of her teammates Michelle Döpke (65.51 meters) and Caorlin Paesler (65.49 meters). Esther Imariagbee from Berlin, the first athlete who does not come from Leverkusen, followed in fourth place.

However, all women clearly missed the EM norm of 71.80 meters and the World Cup norm for Eugene, which is 72.50 meters.
