Middle-sided queen Faith Kipyegon failed significantly in her attack on the four-minute sound wall over the Meiling distance. The three-time 1500 m Olympic champion stayed with an event organized for this project in the Stade Charléty in Paris in 4: 06.91 minutes under her world record of 4: 07.64 minutes.

However, because Kipyegon was not traveling under ordinary competition conditions, but was drawn to the finish line as cruise control, the time like the 1: 59-hour marathon of Eliud Kipchoge 2019 in Vienna does not enter the official leaderboard.

“I want to say with this attempt: women can dream and realize their dreams. This is the way we have to go as women to cross borders and to realize great dreams,” the Kenyan, who has been a mother since 2018, said in advance.

Kipyegon was the first woman to make the historic gold triple over 1500 m perfect at the summer games in Paris last year. The world recordman crowned herself to the Olympic champion in the Stade de France for the third time in a row.

Kipyegon had secured the regular world record in Monaco in 2023 when she remained four and a half seconds under the old record by Sifan Hassan (Netherlands/4: 12.33). Hassan’s time is still the second best in history.
