“There will certainly come a time when I feel down. Also because of the physical consequences, but luckily I have a lot of lovely people around me. When things get tough, I will have to pick up the phone. I also have a tangible gold medal for my age category and I have very beautiful photos and videos.”
Doesn’t taste like anything else
You would say that the 39-year-old Stigter has set new goals after this top time, but nothing turns out to be further from the truth. “No, I don’t have one. I had set three goals this year. That was a 10 kilometers on the road and the track under 30 minutes and a fast marathon. I am so very happy that this has worked out. I have no pressure to perform for a while and I am happy that I can enjoy this now.”
