At the Frankfurt Oktoberfest: Ed Sheeran gives a spontaneous concert in lederhosen

Over the weekend of September 23-25, Ed Sheeran played three consecutive concerts at Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park. In the course of this he did not miss the Oktoberfest either: He surprised the revelers with an impromptu concert in lederhosen and felt hat.

Somehow hard to believe, since the singer is usually only known in simple and sporty clothes. But marquee operator Patrick Hausmann confirmed to the “Bild” newspaper that it was actually the British pop star. At around 11:30 p.m. he was standing in front of his tent.

Ed Sheeran delivers spontaneous live performance

The Frankfurt Oktoberfest is located on the same site where Sheeran previously played his concert. Fan recordings show that he sang his own songs as well as cover versions, including “Everybody” by the Backstreet Boys, accompanied by a band during his surprise late-night gig. Afterwards, Sheeran took some time to take selfies with his fans. Of course, a pint of beer was also a must.

Sheeran gave the Germany concerts on the occasion of his “+-=÷x” tour 2022″. Before he played in Frankfurt, he also performed on three consecutive evenings at the Munich Olympic Stadium from September 10th to 12th. He will continue the tour in Austin on October 22nd. His current album X was released last year. In the meantime he released his new single “Lonely Lovers” with D-Block Europe.
