At least 500 deaths and 1,000 injured in heavy earthquake in Afghanistan, but fear that toll will be much higher

At a powerful earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, at least 500 people died in the night from Sunday to Monday. There are also more than 1,000 injured. The affected region, on the border with Pakistan, was hit by an earthquake with a force of 6 according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
