AMSTERDAM – Based on the trainers resume of Edgar Davids, it is a surprising choice for national coach Louis van Gaal to add him to the coaching staff of the Dutch national team as an assistant. On the other hand, there is a strong bond between the national coach and the former pit bull on football boots. Van Gaal has played an important role in Davids’ sporting life several times and does so again by bringing him into the Dutch national team as the successor of Henk Fraser.
