As a trans person, Ryan carried his own child: “The birth care is not ready yet”

Ryan talks to us about the special and personal journey he made. Years ago this journey started with the realization that he is trans. Later on, a unique chapter was added: although he was in transition, he kept his womb and carried the child he and his partner had. At NH, he tells about the unforeseen situations that resulted in the care he received.

Warrior Ryan Ramharak – NH News

Ryan is a Warrior: an inspiring North Hollander, who, driven by his own experience, makes a positive contribution to society. NH gives people like Ryan a platform.

The motivation to tell his story and thus contribute to a better understanding of trans people comes from being a parent. He has a photo of his child with him, which he has placed on the pedestal next to him.

NH is not the only place where he shares what he experienced during his pregnancy. There’s the documentary “Ryan’s Pregnant” and he wrote the book “How I Became Baba”. He also gives workshops on ‘inclusive birth care’.
