Surprise: World rankings Sabalenka missed the final

Aryna Sabalenka has to wait for her first title for lawn. In Wimbledon, the world ranking list failed surprisingly in the semi -finals.
The American Amanda Anisimova surprisingly reached the Wimbledon final for the first time and did not let two breaks get out of the concept due to medical incidents at fans. The 23-year-old defeated the tennis world list of Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus in the heat of the Center Courts after a big fight for 2:36 hours with 6: 4, 4: 6, 6: 4.
Anisimova meets the winner of the game between Iga świątek from Poland and the Swiss Belinda Bencic in the final on Saturday. In 2023 she had taken months of tennis break because of a burnout and mental problems. Anisimova in Wimbledon failed in qualification last year.
The close game of the two powerful players was interrupted twice for a few minutes in the first set, because a viewer in the blazing sun in the grandstand was not well. Sabalenka hurried to the freezer and handed a bottle with water and a cooling pack on the stands. Officials took care of the audience, both of them were able to go off the stands after around five minutes.
In the quarter-finals, the three-time Grand Slam tournament winner Sabalenka narrowly prevailed against the last remaining German Laura Siegemund. Now she has to continue waiting for her first final at the classic lawn.
Both players initially showed themselves confidently in their surcharge, the first break balls awarded Anisimova at 3: 2. The favorite continued to put pressure on the world ranking twelfth. The Belarusin gave the passage with a double error.
As after the set loss against victory, Sabalenka went into the cabin. This time the favorite made the break and took command more and more in the long rallies. In the third set, Sabalenka immediately took the serve from her opponent, but immediately gave this advantage back – and Anisimova pulled away. At 5: 3 she awarded the first match ball, collected another break, but was allowed to cheer a little later.
