The countries Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten, all three of which belong to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, do not need to have a balanced budget for the coming year, the Kingdom Council of Ministers decided on Friday. That means they are allowed to spend more than they come in. This was also allowed in 2020 and 2021 due to the corona pandemic.
