“Artificial Intelligence Will Change Music Forever”

Billy Corgan is certain: “Artificial intelligence will change music forever”. So said the head of The Smashing Pumpkins in an interview that appeared on May 13.

He also shared more opinions on the subject of artificial intelligence in music. You can support young artists to realize new projects faster. Corgan does not blame musicians who work with AI: he too used all the sources of inspiration available to him.

Furthermore, the 56-year-old Zane Lowe from “Apple Music” says in an interview: “I just did it analog”. The big problem he would see though: “For an organic artist like me it’s going to be hard to keep up with a lot of people who can’t write songs but have good judgment and can’t sing but have autotune .” Corgan finished by saying, “If you think there’s going to be a lot of bad music coming out now – wait!”

In the interview the topic also turned to Kurt Cobain. Billy Corgan had a very special relationship with the Nirvana singer and guitarist: he counted him among his greatest challengers. He compared himself to a hugely ambitious athlete who is constantly looking to outdo everyone – including the grunge legend.

The Smashing Pumpkins last released the three-act rock opera ATUM – ACT III was released on April 21, 2023.
