For Max Dowman, 2025 was a year with many special moments. In August he celebrated his Premier League debut for Arsenal FC at the age of 15, in October he was in Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up for the first time and in November he also became the youngest Champions League player in history. The right winger celebrates his 16th birthday on New Year’s Eve – and receives his first market value according to the transfer market regulations.
As of now, Dowman is valued at 20 million euros, which is the fifth highest starting value in the history of transfer market market values. Only a trio from FC Barcelona around the currently most valuable player in the world, Lamine Yamal, the former prodigy Ansu Fati and midfielder Gavi as well as the former Dortmund player Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was still in the service of Chelsea FC in 2019, were each valued at 25 million euros right from the start.

With his first market value, Dowman immediately ranks on a level with Hertha’s Kennet Eichhorn as the most valuable 16-year-old in the world. The top talent from Berlin started at 3 million euros in August and increased significantly in the subsequent market value updates. The highest value that a German youngster has received straight away is 10 million euros: Florian Wirtz in July 2020 and Youssoufa Moukoko in November 2020.
