Gabriel Jesus will no longer be available for Arsenal FC this season. According to his club, the 27-year-old attacker suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee. This was revealed by extensive investigations. The Brazilian will undergo surgery in the next few days and then begin his recovery and rehabilitation program, the Gunners said.
Jesus was carried off the pitch injured in the third round defeat in the FA Cup against Manchester United (4:6 nE) on Sunday and was substituted after 40 minutes. The South American’s list of absences at Arsenal is one entry longer: Bukayo Saka (23), Ben White (27), Takehiro Tomiyasu (26), Ethan Nwaneri (17) and Riccardo Calafiori (22) are also currently unavailable – Players with a total market value of 312 million euros, not counting Jesus.
The offensive man, who moved from Manchester City to London for 52.2 million euros in 2022, scored seven goals and two assists in 27 competitive games this season. His market value was reduced from 55 million to 45 million euros in the last Premier League update in December.
