Arrival of American company to Coevorden should create 68 jobs

The municipality of Coevorden and the province of Drenthe are jointly investing 120,000 euros for the arrival of NewAge Industries in Coevorden. The location of the American company is expected to create 68 jobs. Wholesale Feyen is making way for this and is moving to another location in the municipality of Coevorden.

NewAge Industries has two offices in the US state of Pennsylvania, together with approximately 300 employees. The producer makes hoses, fittings, clamps and accessories for, among others, the medical sector and the food industry. The company was looking for an office space in the north of the Netherlands with a floor area of 10,000 square meters. The Feyen Ondernemingen BV building on the Data in Coevorden turned out to be suitable for this purpose.

In order to enable the arrival of the American manufacturer, the electricity supply from the substation on Krimweg to the business premises must be adapted. Feyen arranges this and costs a total of almost 600,000 euros. The municipality and province each contribute 60,000 euros. NewAge Industries is further adapting the building and expects to make an investment of millions in building, machines and equipment.

Feyen itself envisages a location on the Leeuwerikenveld industrial estate and a municipal building in the city center as a replacement location. Discussions are currently underway with the municipality about this.
