Arrested ex of missing Silvana, ‘A closed man with loose hands’

41-year-old Marlon B. is suspected of involvement in the disappearance of his ex-partner Silvana Heber from Hoogeloon. Shortly before his arrest last Saturday, he was still watching the football matches of his son and Silvana’s daughter at the sports park of VV Hoogeloon.

Silvana, 36, has been missing since Saturday. Until recently, she lived with B. and would have a new home at the end of the road, the Eindhovens Dagblad reports. That house is now sealed.

Hoping for clarity soon
Hoogeloon has been under the spell of Silvana’s disappearance and B’s arrest for days. The villagers hope that clarity will soon come, also and especially for the four children the two former partners had in previous relationships.

Many residents fear the worst, although there are also people who cannot imagine that the ex-partner of the missing woman has intended something evil. Some other locals confirm that the man has loose hands. For example, a number of neighbors remember that there was a violent incident between the couple about two or three years ago. There are camera images showing how B. mistreated his then partner on a lawn. Those recordings were shared with the police, who would have taken action on this.

A spokesman for the police said she was unable to comment on the content. But also ‘that we are aware of these stories and that everything is included in the investigation.’

‘closed man’
B. is called a closed man by most people in Hoogeloon with whom our reporter has spoken. Some find that strange, because he runs a gym in Eersel and comes into contact with many people that way. Among other things, he provides personal training and also has a business in lifestyle programs.

In the past, B. was a successful judoka. He was Dutch champion three times, participated three times in the European Championship and once in the World Championship.

Lots of help with search
The police have been looking for Silvana for days now. She receives help from the Mobile Unit. The Veteran Search Team is also involved in the search, with sixty men, divided into three teams. The police have shown these volunteers 15 areas where they can search. This stopped on Monday at the beginning of the evening.

The neighborhood investigation has now been completed: a plainclothes officer has asked all people on Dyckmeesterstraat for information. Silvana and B. lived together in this street until recently. Investigations were also carried out this Monday in and around the house where they lived, including with sniffer dogs.
