Arrest Warrant releases a new song – entirely in Turkish. He dares to make a new start with his family.

Even weeks after the release of his sensational Netflix documentary, things aren’t quiet about the arrest warrant – but this time the news is of a musical nature: a new song by the German rapper will be released at 11:59 p.m. on November 20th. However, there will hardly be any German language in it, because “Dünya Garip” is “my first purely Turkish song. Tonight is the day,” arrest warrant posted on Instagram on the same day and shared a presave link to it.

“Strange World”

“Dünya Garip” means “strange world”. In a teaser on Instagram you can hear an excerpt from the song’s lyrics: “My world is strange. Everyone is crazy about money. Hearts are poor.”

Grateful for the support

As thoughtful and sad as the song sounds, arrest warrant presents himself as optimistic in his current Instagram stories. Referring to the news that he had reached five million listeners on Spotify, he wrote: “Grateful for everything. Without you, none of this would be possible.” He was equally grateful for a million followers on TikTok.

Surrounded by family

In another Instagram story on November 19, he commented on a picture with his daughter Aliyah: “I see your love and all your positive messages and with my family I will return stronger.” He tagged his wife Nina Anhan with a red heart. In a subsequent story, he showed a picture of the family home with his daughter and the words: “Watching Peppa Pig with Aliyah.”

The Netflix documentary

The documentary “Babo – The Arrest Warrant Story” was watched millions of times on Netflix and reached number one among Netflix films in Germany, Austria and Switzerland after its release. The film, released on October 28th, was produced by Elyas M’Barek and Pacco-Luca Nitsche. It shows the rapper’s life beyond fame and success and also allows rap greats such as the late Xatar, Celo & Abdi and Jan Delay to have their say.

Arrest warrant says: “I’m clean”

In it, the rapper also talks about his experiences with consuming and dealing drugs. While his criminal past has long been known to his fans, the film makes it clear for the first time how close warrant came to death in his worst moments.

Whether he has now given up drugs remained unclear – until now. At his appearance in Osnabrück, the first concert since the documentary was released, he answered the question that was on the tip of many people’s tongues: “You’ve probably all seen my documentary. I wanted to tell you, I’m clean,” he called out to his audience from the stage on the night of November 15th – and received loud cheers. “And I hope she stays that way too. Screw drugs!”
