Within the scope of the ‘betting on football’ investigation, 29 suspects, including former Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Deputy Chairman Erden Timur, Eyüpspor Vice President Fatih Kulaksız and Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Foreign Relations and National Teams Administrative Director Buğra Cem İmamoğulları, were detained in a simultaneous operation in 11 provinces. The suspects, whose procedures were completed at the police station, were brought for a health check before being transferred to the courthouse.

ARREST REQUEST FOR TIMUR

After the health check, 26 suspects were brought to the Istanbul Palace of Justice in Çağlayan. According to the news reported by Demirören News Agency (DHA), 22 suspects, including Erden Timur, who was tried for the crime of ‘laundering assets resulting from crime’, were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest, and 3 suspects were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for judicial control. On the other hand, 4 suspects were released after procedures at the police station.

TİMUR’S FILE HAS BEEN SEPARATED

The file about Erden Timur, who was detained within the scope of the investigation launched on football betting allegations, was separated from the ‘betting’ investigation. It was learned that the file was transferred to the Terrorism Financing and Laundering Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, as deemed necessary by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
