The Marburg extreme swimmer Nathalie Pohl and her team partner Andy Donaldson have reached the next milestone of her careers. The relay duo circled Ibiza – and had to struggle properly in the extremely wavy water.
The last four kilometers, the Marburg nathalie Pohl, swam together completely, and her British world record partner Andy Donaldson. On Thursday morning, the duo jumped into the Mediterranean before Ibiza, on Friday afternoon, exactly 2:27 p.m., got out of the water and had completely circled the island with it – a world premiere, this successful attempt. The two took almost 31 hours for the almost 120 kilometers (due to unfavorable currents about ten kilometers more than originally planned).
Pohl and Donaldson acted as a season in their attempt. The two experienced extreme swimmers changed in the water every two hours. If the conditions in the 24 -degree warm wet were quite optimal for a long time, it has become extremely wavy, especially in the past six hours. The two athletes had to fight a lot, Pohl became seasick in the meantime, especially in the final phase she was not doing well.
Swimmer Nathalie Pohl – exceptionally not in the cool water.
Pure experience in Extreme swimming
The Marburg native is no longer a newcomer in extreme swimming. She was the first German woman who the seven most challenging seagails in the world (known as Ocean’s Seven) successfully swam. This has not even succeeded in 40 people worldwide. Colleague Donaldson also holds several records. Among other things, he completed the Ocean’s Seven within just 355 days. So now Pohl and Donaldson have also circled Ibiza.
