Arminia Bielefeld: HSV target Janni Serra moves to Aarhus

Long term contract

Center forward Janni Serra is moving to the Danish Superligaen on a free transfer and joining Aarhus GF. The 25-year-old’s contract with Arminia Bielefeld was no longer valid after relegation to the 3rd division. In Denmark, the native of Hanover, who was recently associated with 96 and Hamburger SV, signed a long-term contract until 2027.

During his two years with Ostwestfalen, Serra had contributed 14 goals in 60 competitive games, and the left-footed player brings the experience of 122 second division games (37 goals/12 assists) and 26 appearances in the German top flight (three/two) to his new club.

“He’s a top striker who we can now add to our squad. We are very pleased that we managed to reach an agreement. Janni has proven his qualities in German football for several years and it is not a matter of course that a striker of these qualities will move to Denmark. But after talks went really well, he has signaled that he is ready to come to Aarhus, where we think he will fit in very well with the team,” said sporting director Stig Inge Bjørnebye.

For the attacker, who was trained in Hanover, the Danish first division club is the fourth professional club in his career to date and the first stop abroad. The team of U21 national player Yann Aurel Bisseck, who is likely to leave Inter Milan, finished last season in third place in the championship round and thus secured a place in the qualification for the Europa League.
