The pole vault superstar is shifting the center of his life. To do this, Armand Duplantis is selling a luxury apartment in his home country.
Armand Duplantis is the benchmark in pole vaulting: he has already broken a world record 15 times and won Olympic gold twice. The 26-year-old is therefore a celebrated star in his native Sweden. Together with his wife Desiré, he has now turned his back on Stockholm. The couple gave up a luxury apartment for this.
As the Swedish newspaper “Expressen” reports, Duplantis and his wife invested around 1.8 million euros in the apartment in the Östermalm district of Stockholm in August 2025. The property has now been sold again and the Swedish capital is a thing of the past for the couple.
His agent Daniel Wessfeldt confirmed the move and said: “They have nothing left in Sweden, no house or anything like that. When they come here, they will stay with family and friends.”
According to Wessfeldt, the move was a “joint decision.” He also explained: “Mondo will spend even more time in Europe than before and has decided that he will find the best conditions in Monaco.” The move to the Côte d’Azur has nothing to do with tax reasons. Duplantis remains registered in the United States, where he was born and raised.
His agent said: “As far as taxes are concerned, nothing will change for him. He will continue to pay his taxes in the USA. Otherwise he would have to give up his citizenship and he absolutely doesn’t want that.”
