When Duplantis heard that Mikkola was crowned as a Finnish champion of the under-19s with only one jump, he raised his hat.
“It’s really impressive if he can win so easily,” the Swedish said.

– I always approach these things so that if there is a race where you don’t have to jump unnecessarily, I will try to get as little as possible. Then, however, I always jump more than I planned, Duplantis grinned.
