Arjen Lubach said goodbye to the viewer again last night and that is good news for Eva Jinek’s talk show, which is in heavy weather. “She will continue for another two weeks.”

The high viewing figures of De Avondshow with Arjen Lubach push the scores of Eva Jinek down considerably. Where he ended his season yesterday with just over 1 million viewers (25 percent market share), it did not go further than 594 thousand viewers (16 percent). That’s not enough for a place in the top 15 ratings.

Eva is going to benefit

Arjen’s departure is good news for Eva. “Fortunately, Jinek can broadcast for another two weeks without competition from Arjen. She suffers a lot from it and Op1 is a much less strong competitor in the target group,” explains viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp, the former channel boss of SBS 6.

Arjen will start his third season on January 23. He will then be on the channel for ten weeks. “His last episode luckily scored just over a million linearly, something that has been happening less and less in recent weeks.”

Worried about Arjen?

Precisely for that reason, Tina was a bit worried about Arjen yesterday. “Arjen’s scores are a bit disappointing this season,” she wrote on her ratings juice channel. “He rarely exceeds a million.”

“Does it look worrisome for Arjen? Not yet, but you have to be careful. The viewing figures should not fall further because the difference with the competition is therefore smaller. Better intake would also help him.”

Koningsbrugge

The most watched prime-time program yesterday was Kamp Van Koningsbrugge with 966 thousand viewers (19 percent) on NPO 1. The silver is for RTL 4’s Secret Duets with 815 thousand viewers (16 percent).

Furthermore, SBS 6’s Today Inside (727 thousand and 16 percent) and Veronica’s Bodo Glimt – PSV (690 thousand and 15 percent) were most popular between half past eight and half past eleven.
