Over the years, Tissari scored a whopping 164 goals for the Kotka team. 37 of them came at the Championship level, 48 in the first division and 79 in the second division.

The forward represented KTP in 1969–1980, 1981–82 and 1984–85. In addition to this, he played for FC Kotka and the Swedish club Vasalunds IF.

At the national team level, Tissari got to experience the Moscow Olympics in 1980. He scored two goals in his national team career.

When Tissar was asked about the Finnish team at the age of 28, he gave a typical Finnish answer, which KTP remembers in its death news.

– I’m such an old man that they won’t take me anymore. Should have been good enough once, the man said modestly.
