The 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing will take place without ARD presenter Michael Antwerpes, who tested positive for the corona virus before departure.
Antwerpes was scheduled to be the main moderator at a joint external position of ARD and ZDF in the International Broadcast Center in the mountains. Markus Othmer now welcomes the viewers in the ARD sports show on site for him.
Lea Wagner is also out
Even before Antwerp, moderator Lea Wagner had to cancel her participation in the ARD team because of a virus infection. With Claus Lufen, another ARD presenter is currently in the quarantine hotel after a positive corona finding on entry.
