Drs. MA (Mark) Roscam Abbing will become Director General of Rural Areas and Nitrogen at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. The Council of Ministers has approved the proposal of Minister De Jonge of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment takes effect on October 16, 2023.
Mark Roscam Abbing was Program Director General for Society and COVID-19 from 2020 to 2022. He subsequently held a number of positions, including the position of Deputy Secretary General at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Previously, he was Director of Society and Integration, Director of Employee Schemes and also Deputy Director-General of Social Security and Integration at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.
Mark Roscam Abbing studied Economics at the University of Amsterdam.
This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
