Felix Baumgartner died due to an accident. Now there are obviously new details about the cause.
As the Italian daily newspaper “Il Resto del Carlino” reports, citing investigators, Baumgartner is said to have worn a camera on the engine slide shield. With this he apparently wanted to film the flight. However, the camera is said to have gotten into the propeller through flight movements. This is said to have collapsed and the crash is initiated.

An eyewitness told the Italian newspaper: “I saw how the aircraft in free fall. Another eyewitness that, according to the newspaper, has already completed paragliding jumps, analyzed: “When I saw the crash, he was no longer far away from the ground. Such a dive, as I saw it, could only be attributed to a technical problem.”
An expert who was commissioned by the Fermo public prosecutor should now check this theory, according to the newspaper. Baumgartner lost control of his slide socket during the flight and crashed over Porto Sant’elpidio on the Adriatic coast – into a swimming pool of a holiday resort. Any help came too late for him.
