Bystanders immediately intervened and largely brought the fire under control with fire extinguishers from the nearby Aveve company. The fire brigade only had to extinguish the fire and ventilate the apartment.
The heat caused damage to the windows and there is soot inside. The fire brigade is investigating whether the house remains habitable.
During the intervention, several cats and a dog were also safely removed from the apartment. The residents were not home at the time. Some helpers were given oxygen as a precaution after smoke inhalation.
