Apache pilot puts helicopter in a meadow near IJhorst as a precaution: ‘You would also put a car to the side’ | Staphorst

An Apache combat helicopter of the Air Force made a precautionary landing this afternoon in a meadow near IJhorst. After a short check, he was able to continue on his way.

It must have been a remarkable sight when an Apache attack helicopter suddenly falls from the sky. Although, falling, this was a precautionary landing, according to a Defense spokesman. The helicopter landed next to Bomertsweg, just next to camping de Veentjes and Europarcs Reestervallei.

,,Compare it with burning a warning light on the dashboard of your car. Then it is also wiser to stand aside for a while. That was also the case here.” After a check by our technical service, the Apache was able to continue on its way without any problems.

The helicopter had taken off from the military training area in Leusderheide for an exercise over the east of the Netherlands. The precautionary landing was not part of the exercise, according to the Ministry of Defense.
