Antwerp is still fighting its way out of nowhere to visit Club Brugge

Antwerp thus remains second in the standings of the Belgian first division with 35 points, Club is currently third with 33 points.

In a pleasant first half, the first big chance was for the Bruggelings, but the detached Hans Vanaken did not manage to fill the leather. On the other side, Simon Mignolet first turned a ball on the edge of the line and a few minutes later he stopped Jelle Bataille with a clever reflex of a goal. In the end, the opening goal came in the name of the home team: Brandon Mechele (34.) headed a sharp corner from Andreas Skov Olsen across the corner against the net. After the break Ferran Jutgla (62.) doubled the blue and black bonus with a ground-breaking shot from just outside the box. Still, the Great Old fought its way back into the match out of the blue: Michael Frey (75.) had only to put in and Vincent Janssen (78.) gave Mignolet no chance a handful of minutes later after a previously light penalty kick.

Later on Sunday, Super Sunday will move to Sclessin for the top match between Standard and Union Sint-Gillis (4 pm) and the Lotto Park for the match between RSC Anderlecht and competition leader Racing Genk (6:30 pm). KV Kortrijk and AA Gent close the last match day before the World Cup break in the Guldenspoor Stadium (9pm).
