Rookie Kimi Antonelli is currently looking for a form in Formula 1. Ex-world champion Nico Rosberg advises Mercedes to seal the future of the young Italian promptly.
“The team has to support him as much as possible,” said Formula 1 expert Nico Rosberg at “Sky Sports F1” about the situation of Kimi Antonelli near Mercedes.
The 2016 world champion went one step further. “Why not just confirm his contract for the next year?” Rosberg asked his question and explained: “In the worst case, things are going really badly, then you can still get out. You just give him trust and time to make progress.”
Antonelli is “definitely a generation talent. He has already shown this in karting, with a talent at the level of Verstappen and Hamilton. It also depends on the mental constitution,” said the 40-year-old.

However, Antonelli is currently in formula 1 in formula 1. The 18-year-old has not been able to collect any points in the silver arrow in the last three races and even did not even reach the goal in Spielberg and Silverstone.
“If you get into a small downward spiral, with a few too many mistakes, here and there a little too little pace, then it starts to strengthen yourself. It is in this situation, and it is really difficult and hard to look at it,” commented Rosberg, commenting on the location of the Formula 1 rookies.
It is likely that Antonelli will continue to sit in the Mercedes Cockpit in the coming season. Team boss Toto Wolff had recently indicated that they wanted to continue with the existing driver duo. This is made up of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. In addition, world champion Max Verstappen has now known himself to Red Bull Racing after months of change speculation.
