Antoinette Hertsenberg sees Radar descending towards the TV grave after 23 years

It seems like the end of practice for Antoinette Hertsenberg and her TV classic Radar. After 23 years, the consumer section is descending towards the Hilversum tombs. “Wry.”

Antoinette Hertsenberg and her relevant program Radar have been ruthlessly relegated from main stage NPO 1 to the much smaller NPO 2. The result? A spectacular drop in viewing figures, something that was already feared. The premiere on the new home network did well last week, but now it’s a dull misery.

‘Wry for Antoinette’

Yesterday, Radar did not exceed 525 thousand viewers (9 percent market share), which is up to a million (!) Less than normal. In concrete terms, this means that the program loses impact. Due to the sharply reduced viewership, companies and institutions will be less impressed by a call from the editors.

How does viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp interpret this? “Ouch. A very bitter viewing figure morning for Antoinette. So almost 1 million viewers difference… That will hurt Antoinette, Fons, the team and the AvroTros”, she writes.

Dionne in charge

Dionne Stax is now right opposite Antoinette, in the NPO 1 spot that used to belong to Radar. Partly thanks to the lead-in of the Journaal, her show Van Onschatbare Waarde scores top marks: this time 1.7 million people watched (29 percent). And that while Antoinette was not at all impressed by her opponent at first.

Tina: “Antoinette did not expect Van Onschatbare Waarde to become a formidable competitor for Radar, but nothing could be further from the truth. She is number one on prime time. 1.7 million viewers is really a super score. Dionne-Antoinette: 2-0.”

Help John Doesn’t Score

According to Tina, Antoinette is not the only one who is disappointed. John Williams attracted ‘only’ 722 thousand viewers (13 percent) on RTL 4 with his former viewing figure gun Help Mijn Man Is Klusser. “Viewers now no longer know when it is a repeat or not and have seen the format too often,” thinks Tina . And: “Auxiliary TV is off.”

And what about Peter Gillis and his soap opera? It is falling further and further into the top 25, this time 522 thousand people watched (9 percent). The boost of the day? Arjen Lubach has climbed above the million mark again: he attracted 1.003 million viewers (27 percent) to NPO 1 yesterday.
