Anouk Smulders reacts to Sylvie Meis’s harsh sneer, who has called her a ‘bloodhound’. It is all based on a misunderstanding, she says. “There is nothing more to it.”

It really hurts Sylvie Meis that Anouk Smulders more or less called her a bad mother two years ago on television. There was a gossip at the time that Sylvie would drop her son’s first professional match to go to her father-in-law’s birthday and the Shownieuws expert responded relentlessly.

Anouk responds

Anouk and her colleagues at Shownieuws are simply ‘bloodhounds’, Sylvie sneered in a major interview with Robbert Rodenburg. “I loved her so much and I was so disappointed in another hard-working mom who should have known better than to express that. Just triggered probably by those other bloodhounds, but disappointing.”

What does Anouk think of this? “We also just had app contact at the time and I think it’s completely fine, so there is nothing more going on now,” she responds via her Shownieuws colleague Bart Ettekoven.

Unjustified

Bart has spoken extensively with Anouk. He thinks it is unfair that she is treated so harshly. At the time, Anouk did not know at all that Sylvie’s son’s match would be moved, he says. “Of course the world didn’t know that, Anouk didn’t know that at the time, so she just expressed her surprise about it.”

He continues: “Sylvie interpreted that a bit as if she was a bad mother. Anouk has never said that in so many words, but I can imagine that it came across that way to her.”

‘Such a shame’

Sylvie could have solved this in a different way, according to Shownieuws colleague Patty Brard. “It is such a shame, because then she speaks out about it and Anouk, I am sure, never intended it that way and was probably not aware of all the facts. I always find it such a shame that someone is left with that.”

Well, Sylvie indicates that she did not sit with it because she immediately sent Anouk a devastating ‘dm’ on Instagram. You can also ask yourself whether it is actually even worse that Anouk was babbling fact-free in a program that looks down on the ‘unjournalistic’ juice channels.

sincere person

Anouk did not deserve all this, according to Patty. “So this is the same as WhatsApp traffic. Call each other and say it. I mean: if we also have someone high on this desk as a mother, it is Anouk Smulders.”

Shownieuws presenter Dyantha Brooks concludes: “Not only as a mother, but also as a sincere person.”

Sincere person? Don’t let the alleged victims of Marco Borsato hear that.
