VfL Wolfsburg presented the second access this winter with Mads Roerslev. The 25 -year -old right -back switches from FC Brentford to Bundesliga club by loan until the end of the season. Both clubs confirmed the transfer on Monday evening. In the deal, it is reportedly a purchase option, which should be 6.5 million euros and thus below the market value of 12 million euros.
Previously, VfL had already signed Roerslev’s Danish compatriot Andreas Skov Olsen (25) for 14 million euros from FC Bruges for the right outer lane. Wolfsburg had become active on the transfer market because Ridle Baku (26) moved to Leipzig for 4.5 million euros. Freiburg’s Kiliann Sildillia (22) was also long associated with the league competitor. Now the election fell on Roerslev, which had been active for Brentford since 2019 and at that time cost 60,000 euros. He played 146 games and contributed two goals and eleven templates. It was used 23 times in the current season, 13 times from the start. For the national team, he played for the first and so far in November.
“With MADS we win a variable, excellently trained defensive player, who has a lot of experience for his old age and at the same time is far from at the end of its development. We are very pleased that we were able to convince Mads from VfL, ”said VfL sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz. Roerslev added: “I am very happy to be here. VfL Wolfsburg is a very good club, the way the team plays football. I am pleased that I am now part of it and I can’t wait to play in this beautiful stadium. ”
