A car on Schoolstraat in Bovensmilde was completely burned out last night. It is the fifth car fire on the Smildes in recent days.
According to bystanders, a group of young people were behind the fire. The fire brigade arrived quickly, but little was left of the car after the fire was extinguished.
In the Smildes region it is ‘tradition’ to set fire to cars or other vehicles in the days before New Year’s Eve.
