Annimari Korte told about the unpleasant situation on Instagram.
– I had a panic attack on a flight from Charlotte to New York three weeks ago on Sunday, Korte revealed.
According to the woman, she has had similar panic attacks many times before, but it had been several years since the previous ones.
– A few people around me asked if I wanted to hold their hand, which was nice, but I couldn’t answer them, says Korte.
– Then a man sat behind me, who didn’t ask, but touched my shoulders. He comforted me and talked for 15 minutes and told me that everything was going to be fine and that we would be landing soon. He did everything right, Korte praises.
The woman regretted that she did not have time to thank the man for the opening after the flight. However, Korte decided to share the story with his followers so that people could learn about the situation.
– I hope this man knows how much his help meant to me.
Korte, 36, said last May that he will end his sports career.
– I don’t think it makes sense to compete when it doesn’t feel good anymore, the woman justified her decision.
In 2019, Korte ran his own record of 12.72 in the 100-meter hurdles, which was also a Finnish record. Reetta Hurske made a new SE (12.70) last summer.
Korte represented Finland, among other things, at the World Championships in Doha 2019 and the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021.
