Anna-Lena Friedsam missed the final at the WTA tournament in Portoroz, Slovenia. The 28-year-old lost 6-1, 7-5 to Czech Katerina Siniakova in the semi-finals.

    Friedsam couldn’t rely on her serve this time. In the first set, she failed to get through her service once in four attempts.

    In the second round she conceded two breaks, including the decisive one to 5:7. Siniakova converted her sixth match point after 1:29 hours.

    On the way to the semi-finals, Friedsam surprisingly knocked out number one seeded Briton Emma Raducanu.

    Siniakova will face the Kazakh Elena Rybakina in the final. The tournament is endowed with a total of 251,750 US dollars.
