Thirteen new homes may be built on the outskirts of Anloo. A group of private initiators want to build the houses on a site on the Raatakkers, next to the existing residential area and the ice rink. The Aa en Hunze municipal council will consider the plan this week.
The future residents have united to develop their own homes together. This is done through a so-called collective construction project, in which residents take the initiative themselves instead of a project developer.
Before the homes can be built, permission from the municipality is required. The construction plans do not fit within the current rules that apply to the site.
The mayor and aldermen are positive about the plan and ask the municipal council to agree to it. If the council agrees, the permit can be granted and development can proceed.
The plan consists of thirteen homes. Of these, four will be in the cheaper segment, four in the middle segment and five detached homes. The municipality believes that this distribution fits the need for housing in Anloo.
The new construction forms the second phase of the Raatakkers residential area. The first plans for housing at this location date back to 2020. At the end of 2024, the initiators were given a year to develop a concrete plan. The necessary studies have now been completed and a detailed design has been completed.
According to the municipality, local residents have been updated several times about the plans. According to the council, no objections were raised that would give reason to adjust the design.
The city council will discuss the proposal during tonight’s council meeting. The decision will be made a week later, on June 18. If the council agrees, the permit can be granted and the construction of the homes comes one step closer.
