It is a huge challenge for many people, and that also applies to Anjo Stolk from Texel. In September 2022, she attended an information evening organized by the municipality, together with dozens of other candidates who wanted to build under their own management. Anjo eventually became one of the lucky ones who, together with her son, were able to realize her dream.
Although this is her second self-managed project, the responsibilities still regularly give her sleepless nights. “You are constantly working on it, because you have to arrange everything yourself: from the drawings to the implementation of the project,” she says. “Fortunately, my neighbor took on a lot of work. He thought about everything and was able to quickly communicate with the municipality. As CPO, we owe a lot to him.”
