Angela de Jong has been approached to become one of the experts in Yvonne Coldeweijer’s daily juice show, but she has declined the honor. “I was completely amazed.”
It should actually have started in about three weeks: the daily program De Juice Show in which Yvonne Coldeweijer would chat with other gossipy types about all sleaze and dirt from Hilversum. However, she turns out not to be a team player, only argues and many tons of money for Yvonne, Net5 will soon broadcast MasterChef again.
Angela says no
What a drama. “I think it will continue, but until further notice… But yes, if everything and everyone runs away… You were also approached, right?”, media journalist Dennis Jansen notes in the AD Media podcast.
Colleague Angela de Jong agrees. “Yes, you can say that. I was approached by Eric de Munck at the end of July. He was already there at the time, but then it was a completely different program that they had in mind than what I read the last time. Then it had to be a kind of The View-like program.”
Failed 20 times
Angela thought that was very strange. “Another women’s talk show that had already failed 20 times, so I was completely surprised that it was pulled out of the closet again, but he really believed in it. Of course he also quit his job at RTL Boulevard because of it.”
Yvonne didn’t like that View-like setup and that’s why Eric is now out again. “We can talk about arguments and I read all kinds of things about diva behavior by Yvonne Coldeweijer, that’s all possible, I didn’t concern myself with that for the rest, but I do recognize another trend that you have already seen a few times,” says Angela.
Caltstellen
What trend is Angela talking about? “They just brought in Yvonne Coldeweijer without thinking about what kind of program should be added. Apparently it was: we have to get her calm downbecause we bring her in and then something has to be thought of. Of course, that has happened before.”
The AD opinion diva continues: “I have also had those conversations with Talpa and John de Mol, like: ‘We want you and then we will see what kind of program!’”
Carte blanche
Angela herself was once approached by Talpa for the former evening show 6 Inside. “That started with a late-night program where I was given carte blanche and I was going to be editor-in-chief and presenter and who knows what else. I really thought: but what then? ‘Yes, maybe something with media, maybe something with this, maybe something with that.’”
“While I thought: how can you bring someone in based on… I had just won The Slimste Mens and of course they had done the same with Natacha Harlequin. She was also in the spotlight at the time because she had sat at the table at the VI racism riot. And Jan Versteegh was brought in because he was the Mole, Merel Westrik too, Rob Kemps.”
Momentum
Talpa brings in well-known faces without a vision, says Angela. “Then you have momentum around someone and they just have to be brought in without thinking about what kind of program suits it. If you do eager If you are willing to say yes to it, then you get this and then something has to be thought of.”
According to her, it will be very difficult for Yvonne anyway. “She steps into something where you know: I am encapsulated and embedded somewhere, which makes it more difficult to be critical of the people from whom you receive your salary.”
