Former kickboxer and social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan it has been decided to transfer him from pretrial detention to house arrest.

The Tate brothers have been detained in Romania since December, and the police are investigating them for rape, human trafficking and forming an organized crime group. Both have denied having committed the crimes.

The ruling by the Court of Appeal in Bucharest replaces the latest detention order, which was due to expire on April 29.

A spokesperson for the Tate brothers said for the BBCthat the brothers are “overwhelmed” by the decision.

The men’s lawyers have argued that holding them in pre-trial detention is unnecessarily harsh when there are other legal options available, such as house arrest.

Court documents obtained by the BBC state that Tate forced at least six women to produce commercial pornographic content for the Onlyfans website under the threat of physical violence.

However, charges have not yet been brought against the Tate brothers or the two Romanians arrested with them.
