Andrea Bocelli was supposed to sing for Donald Trump once, but the performance was canceled without further ado. The famous tenor was scheduled to attend the presidential inauguration in 2016. Apparently they wanted to protect him from negative reactions when the appearance was canceled at short notice.
Now Donald Trump has fulfilled his long-held wish to hear the Italian’s great voice (“Time To Say Good Bye”) once again. On Friday (October 17), Bocelli visited the Oval Office and serenaded the US President. Trump adviser Margo Martin shared footage of the visit on social media.
Bizarre: The US President had Bocelli’s music played loudly and asked his guest to sing along. The 67-year-old is unlikely to experience this on other occasions.
Trump has been a fan of the opera singer for many years and booked him to perform at a private party at Mar-a-Lago in 2010. Bocelli’s upcoming White House appearance is scheduled for Dec. 5, two days before the Kennedy Center Honors.
At this event, which enjoys great prestige in the USA, the US President will not only moderate, but also honor KISS, Sylvester Stallone and Gloria Gaynor, among others.
