André Hazes will release the second single from his new album on Thursday. The number If You Want Me To Be Your Man is about his “own baggage,” the singer explains in a statement.
“I will be 30 next year, I am now at an age where I have already been through a lot. Anyone who wants to continue with me will have to accept that I’ve had a whole life already. So, if you want me to be your man, you get me with all the trimmings,” Hazes explains.
The same applies to his relationships, says the singer. ,,Of course in love, but also in my relationship with fans, press, public and family. This is something I’ve discovered over the past two years and have had to make peace with myself. I can’t undo the past and I’m not proud of everything, but it has made me who I am today. I now feel more powerful than ever and am very proud of this new sound.”
The single is on the album Made for me which comes out on September 8. The singer made his comeback earlier this year after a break during the Holland Zingt Hazes shows. He stopped performing in the fall of 2021 due to a burnout. He later said that he also struggled with addictions. Hazes has now kicked the habit.
