That happened quickly: Hannover 96 introduced their new coach shortly after Stefan Leitl was fired. It’s an old friend.

André Breitenreiter will be Hannover 96’s coach again: The 51-year-old will take over the position until the end of the season. The club announced this on Sunday. Like most recently at Huddersfield, his assistant coach will be Thomas Kleine (played for 96 in 2007/08).

“André has proven several times in his career that he can lead a team consistently, stably and successfully through a season at a high level of performance,” said sports director Marcus Mann. Breitenreiter will be officially presented at the start of training on January 2nd, 2025.
